This is Eastergate Bridge (also known as Close Gate Bridge), an old packhorse bridge a mile or so from Marsden and not far from the Standedge Tunnel entrance. It carried an ancient route across the Pennines over Haigh Clough, the valley of one of the two main tributaries of the River Colne.

Just below this point, Haigh Clough meets Redbrook Clough, the valley of the other tributary; this can be seen in the previous picture.
